Saturday wore blue, and the color was prominently displayed yesterday - it made its presence known wherever I journeyed, and it danced its way into every photo taken on the day's rambles through farms and fields in the Lanark Highlands, blue in the sky and clouds, blue in the snow, blue in the long shadows cast by barns, trees, fences and hedgerows.
My friends and I stopped frequently to exclaim over the depth and richness of the many shades of blue we were seeing during our slow and thoughtful meandering, and we thought that perhaps the quality of blueness arose from the juicyness (or wetness) of the newly fallen and very abundant snow.
Azure, beryl, cerulean, cobalt, indigo, navy, royal, sapphire, teal, turquoise, ultramarine, how many lovely names are worn by the color blue. . .
