Turning Light

In the beginning I thought to place a photo here today, something ethereal showing the rising sun on the morning of the Winter Solstice, shining over great trees, old stones and deep snow. I did that, but the image chosen did not reside here for long.

Rather than using one of my photos which is conventionally pretty (if they are ever that), thoughtful, and perhaps even a tad inspirational, here is my own flawed artistic rendering of a favourite view, one seen often from the old four wheeled chariot, looking out over a county road in Lanark, down across wide spruce cloaked ridges, sleeping valleys and old homesteads.

Wishing you the light and warmth of a brightly burning hearth on the longest night of the year. . . . Yuletide blessings to you and your clan and much joy on your journey.
