We didn't stop anywhere for long because of the cold, and we kept moving briskly on up the trail, bending forward slightly and trying to present as small a target to the raw February winds as we possibly could. Crunch, crunch, crunch went our snowshoes across the heavy snow and over the thick crust of ice. The chickadees, nuthatches and redpolls were already waiting when we arrived at the bird feeders several hundred yards up the trail, and they were very happy to see us.

Greetings! I found you through Joanna's Gaian Tarot Artist Journal.
Your images in the forest are lovely! Given the cold you are describing, I'll BET those birds were glad to see you! :)
