View From the Hill

This is a view from my hill in Lanark, looking out from my favourite old rail fence, over the valley and down to the lake and the river. On a clear day, one can see forever from this high place and the view is ever changing - in a week or two, there will be red and gold and russet as far as the eye can see. The transformation has already begun.

I too am excited to see the autumn changes coming! I smelled autumn for the first time a couple days ago, and this morning I saw the first couple trees turning!

Beautiful photo of the old fence - one could write a story around it. I hope you'll show us more photos of the view from this hill as the colours change.

Your fallish beginnings are ahead of ours here in the desert, but I am starting to see a subtle difference in the cottonwoods along the bosque. Green is slowly becoming less green. The golds are sure to follow.

Thank you, as always...
