Communications apparatus in the village is in something of a sorry state this morning because of the recent heavy snowfall, the ice coating everything in sight and high winds, so my time here this morning is brief by necessity - it has taken me several tries to cobble together even these few feeble scraps.
As I write, the aerial communications cable which provides the little blue house with telephone and internet services is slapping vigorously against the side of the house, having been dislodged in a great blow yesterday. Telephone and web access today are intermittent at best.
What does one do on such days when it is brilliantly sunny outside, but far too cold for pottering and rambling? I shall begin with a pot of tea and a little counted breathing, in and out, in and out. The restless self which trundles into the foreground on such days must be appeased - she must be soothed and placated.

You can clean house?? No, poetry reading by the fireside is what you do.
This is a natural time to appreciate the world through windows and take care of ourselves inside. Such lovely images! Stay warm, rest and get outside when you feel up to it, that's my suggestion, LOL.
Dear Cate,
You always handle all situations perfectly. May you stay warm and cozy.
May I wish to be as wise as you are, some day, and pass on wise words of wisdom.
You soul sister
Tea, soft warm quilt and a book.
Sit where you can see out and enjoy the view.
I love the way you describe what you'll do on a very cold day. I live in the city -- Boston -- but country living is appealing to me. You have some beautiful images here, too.
