My woods are a study in red and gold, the steep trails curving through them are carpeted ankle deep in fallen leaves of red and gold and warm earthy brown.
It takes hours to go anywhere in the Two Hundred Acre Wood in October, because I have to stop every few feet and look around, at patches of sunlight, flickering shadows and fallen leaves.
I come home from every ramble hung with delicate spider webs and dusted with leaf dust, my pockets full of acorns and hickory nuts, the pages of my Moleskine full of pressed leaves in vivid colors. There's a sparkle in my eye, and the sparkle is residual sunlight.

My visits here feed my spirit. A deeply-felt Thank you to you.
This morning the sun is behind a bank of fog - the leaves are not glowing but here also is a wonderful study of red and gold. Thanks again for the inspiration and the opportunity to share a new vision of the beauty of the earth.
Autumn colours are wonderful - I saw only the very start of the Fall colours in New Hampshire when I was there and back here in UK there are only the beginnings still. I have a feeling the leaves may drop without really colouring this year so I shall have to enjoy seeing them vicariously via your beautiful photographs and descriptions.
I know what you mean about a walk in the woods. It is like walking through a wonderful tapestry or painting and you have to study every element.
I love coming upon spider webs when I'm out walking. My dreams are filled with autumn leaves these days since I just finished a weekend watercolour workshop on painting them.
I would like to take your walk:) Here in Arizona it is only desert and few signs of the changing seasons. It is not all bad because we have wonderful warm winters but I do miss the seasons...Blessings
