The word for this Friday is "journey"
This journey we are all on together is a meandering one with surprises waiting around every bend and turning. We can never know how long our own journey will be in this lifetime or where it will take us, but we are a part of a vast cosmic order which is wild and wondrous and full of music, and there will certainly be gifts, adventures and surprises as we go along the trail.
The news of Benazir Bhutto's assassination yesterday knocked me for a loop, and close upon the heels of that tragic news came another sad telling: that a longtime and much loved friend, a true wise woman, had died after undergoing surgery. I am going to miss her wit and her wisdom, her radiance and her wonderful mind, all our conversations on Jung and archetypes.
I shall cope with my grief as I always seem to do - a journey deep into the Lanark woods and an hour or two spent sitting on my favorite rock, just breathing in and out with the comforting trees all around me.
If you feel like writing about your own journey and what the word means to you, feel free to mention it in the comments to this post and tuck in a link to your writing.
Joy on your journey....

I am sorry for your loss. Those good friends of the heart cannot be replaced.
I love your photo, a different look from the usual pristine fields of snow. I like the sense of journey, discovery, and change.
Oh Cate ~ I'm sorry to hear about your friend. May your memories comfort you in your loss.
My condolences.
Sorry about your loss. Like you, I find that life is put into perspective when I go into natue.
I was sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. She sounds like quite a gem and one that will be missed very much.
Quiet blessings,

Warm evening blessings to you...
I did it! I wrote about "journey" on my blog:

Btw, I just added your blog as a link to mine (along with several others). Is that ok to do or is it more appropriate to ask for permission first?
Thanks, sis,
