It's that time of year to be sure, round bales of hay everywhere in the highlands, deer and flocks of wild turkeys feeding at dawn, attenuated shadows flowing across the fields at sunset.
The shadows across the land are growing longer as the days become shorter, and as if to compensate for the waning daylight hours, our northern sunsets are becoming fiery passionate affairs, the setting sun flaming amazement as it descends below the treeline. Every rising moon is bright and golden.

Oh yes Cate they are in all the fields at my old home place. Also small square bales of wheat straw before they plant soybeans.
I love looking out over the country side with everything neatly clipped and these bales waiting to be stored for the winter.
Here by us the days are lenghtening, small green buds are appearing and the moon is freshly beautiful.
