These brilliantly colored "mums" are something of an autumn tradition in the little blue household, and they are easy on the eye. When the Fall Equinox (Mabon) rolls around, there has to be a wreath on the front door, and there always has to be a huge pot of bronze, gold or russet chrysanthemums on the cobbled walkway leading up to the door.
The conventions are small, but they are our own way of honoring the harvest, the seasons, the Old Wild Mother and the great cosmic round in which we all live out our days - they're a a gentle nod of recognition and appreciation, heartfelt thanksgiving for this earthly abundance, for this dazzling autumn threshold in all its rainbow color, spice and splendor.

This season has my favorite colors all season long. I am lovin' it.
I have been distracted from blog walking for some weeks, but I'm back. Your blog always inspires me, Cate.
Dear one...you have been on my mind this past week. I haven't been online as much as usual, which gives me more time to do some oft-neglected things I love. Just now I took a chilly walk and contemplated the Herbst moon with you in silence. Hugs to you...
How bright and cheerful, just what I need.
They are so yellow. Like delicate suns.
