These lovely images make me long for the weather here to turn, and the cool autumn days to arrive. I think it's time for a trip to my favorite orchard to pick out a few pumpkins of my own!
Omphalos as in the Greek myths about the center of the earth, Zeus and his sacred stones and Queen Omphale? I like it very much. If I remember correctly, one of the omphalos (or world navel) stones was at Delphi. .

How lovely! Isn't the orange of a pumpkin a wonderful shade? Ours our beginning to turn now, from rich green to deep glowing orange.
Beautiful - the fields near my home are full of pumpkins.

we are looking forward to our autumn saturday in the pumpkin patch when we'll choose a few pumpkins for our fall decor. it is always a fun affair.
I love the title of this post! "Ompahlos" from the Greek for navel - would be another good choice...
