Sunday - Saying Yes to the World

When it’s over, I want to say: all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.

When it is over, I don’t want to wonder
if I have made of my life something particular, and real.
I don’t want to find myself sighing and frightened,
or full of argument.

I don’t want to end up simply having visited this world.

Mary Oliver

I just popped over from The Quiet Country House to say hi. It was the Mary Oliver quote that pulled me in. I do enjoy her poems. Have a lovely day. Granny Marigold

Oh, I wish that were true for me. I routinely second guess my younger years, those words that flew from my mouth that I cannot recall, the shiny object I chased while ignoring the real treasures all around me. I can say I gave it my best shot, but I also wish we had second chances on some things.
