She climbed out of my pen in her own good time, and she insisted I pay attention, lean in, listen up and wise up, get my act together, get on with the "stuff" I need to work on and am always forgetting. She simply would not go away, and it seems she is here to stay.
I like her style and her irreverent attitude, her wild hair and her flowing gypsy skirts, her love of color even those eloquent bare toes. Being a bit more like her would be a fine thing for this Old Thing.
I call her Hagatha. She is maiden, mother and beldame, all rolled into one wise, independent and passionate spirit.
She loves the journey, is happy with who she is and where she is going. She knows how to live in the moment, and she likes finding her own way through the woods. She doesn't mind going alone, but she likes having kindred spirits to travel with now and again.
No pastels for this gladsome spirit. Her favorite shade is ultraviolet, and she colors outside the lines whenever she feels like it, with the brightest crayons in the box. She felt she belonged in the banner for this place, and she insisted that I tuck her in along with her raggedy moon and flock of cranes.

Hold the words close and whisper them to yourself when you are feeling fragile, anxious or insecure. Embrace the thought.
